Ellen's Pecan Pie

3 eggs
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c light Karo syrup
1/3 c melted butter
1 tsp butter
1 c pecans broken in half
1 tsp vanilla
1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell

Mix all ingredients together, except pecans.  Add pecans last.
Pour into pastry shell.
Bake 400 degrees for 30 - 35 min.
